Appal splits your storefront traffic between real Shopify page templates. The version a shopper lands on is rendered by your theme the normal way, so nothing is rewritten in the browser and there is no flash of the old page. Every visit is counted and every order is matched back to the version that produced it. Results put conversion rate, revenue per visitor and average order value side by side, with how likely the challenger is to be better than the control.
