About CostLedger ‑ COGS & Margins
Shopify stores one current cost per variant, so supplier price changes can hide what earlier stock cost. CostLedger keeps a dated ledger with moving-average math. Record receipts manually, by CSV, or on Plus from completed Shopify Purchase Order PDFs. Review each resolved line and excluded cost before recording. CostLedger never changes Shopify data. Use sale-date margin reports, estimated monthly COGS, inventory valuation, alerts, exports, and guarded PO receipt reversals.
