Updating a customized theme can be stressful, especially when you have custom code, app integrations, and other changes that you don't want to lose. We’re using the Combine theme. We’ve made a lot of code improvements. We needed to update our theme to version 4.0.0 without losing any code blocks. We completed the update using Theme Updater. Please remember to be very careful adding 3rd party apps to your store so the update can go smoothly and you spend your time working on marketing. Be sure to review Out of the Sandbox premium theme sections so your system uses known compatible apps.

Total disaster. I even purchased the "Theme Updater & Backups" app to update to the latest version (v9.5.1), but the core issues remain. The most game-breaking bug is the inventory logic. When a customer tries to add more items than what's in stock, the entire site simply FREEZES instead of showing a proper message or limiting the quantity. I had a problem with the backup section of the app and Corey from Out of the Sandbox got the issue addressed right away. That said, it has been the only time their support addressed something right away. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

They say 'It will keep code edits', but it's just not working. There is no such a thing 'keeping custom code' if you custom code your theme. Basically, this app is useless for me.

The updates never go smoothly, it's deleting all my theme customizations (which I payed a lot for) and I can't use the updated theme.
