Loop Update: Accurate One-Time Totals at Checkout for Non-Renewing Prepaid Plans
Table of contents: 3 sections
Loop has updated checkout accuracy for prepaid plans and refocused cancellation analytics. The app now calculates accurate one-time totals for non-renewing prepaid selling plans at checkout. Additionally, cancellation reason charts are capped at the top 15 reasons, with remaining reasons grouped into an "Other" category.
Checkout accuracy for prepaid plan charges
Prepaid selling plans require customers to pay upfront for a set duration or quantity. Previously, Loop's checkout display could misrepresent the one-time charge for non-renewing prepaid plans, potentially surprising customers at purchase. The update ensures checkout totals now match your app configuration for that plan. This matters most for merchants offering multiple plan SKUs or discount combinations, where pricing structures compound quickly.
Verify the change by adding a non-renewing prepaid product to a test order and reviewing the one-time charge at checkout.
Cancellation insights with readable charts
Merchants using Loop's recovery workflows generate cancellation reason data as customers move through churn. Loop previously displayed every unique reason in charts, which became crowded when merchants tracked many categories. The new constraint on chart display limits the visible reasons to the most common 15, with an "Other" bucket for the rest. This makes patterns visible without noise.
The "Other" bucket aggregates all reasons beyond the top 15. If you track many custom cancellation reasons, consider consolidating closely-related reasons to surface higher-priority patterns into the visible top 15.
What to check
If your store sells non-renewing prepaid plans, test checkout displays with a prepaid product to confirm one-time charges are accurate. For stores using Loop's cancellation tracking, review your chart to verify that your top churn drivers appear in the top 15. Consider whether any low-frequency reasons can be grouped to surface higher-priority patterns.
